Back On Track
Well the last couple of days my game has felt so much better. So much more confident. I have felt in control of several tables. Sometimes obviously the cards make it hard to dominate but if they are reasonable I have been very good. The last few days has seen me play my dominant hands much better and with a much better chance of extracting top value. Reraising in position with a big hand. Calling down bluff attempts (within reason and with a strong hand)Putting others to the test in a way I have not done in quite some time with big bets. There have been some suckouts, there have been some mistakes. But more times than not it has been I who have had the best of it more than not. To me it means I have finally brought my full game up to .50/1. When I can do that consistently it should bode well for me long term. Of course there have been the bad beats. And this blog is a good place to post them. Lets take a look!!
I thought I had saved the hand histories but forgot. So I will give a brief discription of the two big hands that I got pwned by the deck.
1st one is the real tragedy. Preflop allin. I was last to act I believe I was in the sb. 6 handed. Small stack($60about) opens for a standard raise $4 and is immediately reraised by utg+1 ($135) to $12 fold fold, and I reraise ALLIN with KK, about $130? Im happy to take it down right here CALL,CALL. Wow....Board comes 8, 4, Q. At which point I was pretty sure I was beaten.... Turn 10, River J! Anyway one of them had QQ. (my worries confirmed, but the other guy had AK!! for the rivered straight. They split the main and side pots....$350ish....Sigh. According to Cardplayer calculator I was a 55% favorite against them as a team...oh well. Next time!
The next big pot that I lost was a bit different . We all had similar stacks around $100 buck but the money all went in on the flop. I held 10 10. The flop came 7s 10s Qx. I cannot remember position but I believe I opened and was reraised and rereraised before I pushed. Guy to my left had 7 7 and was dominated but as I feared the guy to my right held and OESFD of 9 js... The 8 fell on the river and he scooped up about $305. Ugg. Now that time I was a 50% to beat them. Great pot odds again. The guy with 7s was screwed he needed a huge card. After the turn which I knew was a blank I was a 66% favorite. Oh well. Not nearly as bad as the case 8 that fell on my set over set 10's a couple weeks back. Still, it seems that the really huge hands I have been going in with the best and getting drawn out on quite a lot lately. It is due to change.
As for everything else it is going well. Although last month I failed to reach VIP platinum due to work commitments, it is looking very well in February on that front. Already 3800 VIPs in only 6 days. Strong start. And on Sunday I posted two satellite wins out of 6 for the Sunday Million and netted $230 $T. I was especially pleased with only two extra rebuys in the 6 tourneys. Solid.
