New Year's Eve 2007 Year end report
Well, first off, Happy New Year! Welcome to the 2007 year end review...
I started off the year with 6 goals. During my half year report on July 1st I pretty much summed up how those goals were going. Not much has changed except that I am now posting much more on blogger in the past month or so.
At the beginning of the year.....
I was a Platinum VIP on Stars. BR just over $3k. Up about 10k+ in my poker career. Playing .50/1NLH 4-6 multitabling.
Those goals were
1. Continue to build BR without withdrawing from it to over $15K in 2007.
This did not happen. I withdrew over 5000K in 2007. My bankroll is less than it was at the beginning of the year and I have plans to continue to withdraw from my bankroll on a bi-monthly basis.
2.As my BR builds to move up, 2007 goal is to be at least playing 2/4NLH(need about 12-15k ) and possibly as high as 5/10NLH(need 30k)
Clearly this did not happen and will most likely not happen in 2008, although you never know.
3.Platinum vip on stars every month and Supernova by September
Supernova was accomplished but about 40 days late. I went Supernova in October and was platinum all but one month leading up to that.
4.Win seat to 2007 WSOP
Yeah, uhh no. My efforts were muted as I put most of my energy into pursuing Supernova status. Likely, 2008 will find me in a similar situation...
5.Update my blog with greater regularity. At least once a week.
Well, at first this wasn't happening, but in December I post nearly every second day. Hopefully this continues and the content will increase as well...
6.Start using PokerTracker for crying out loud!
I have no idea why I have been so poor at using every tool at my disposal that will help me improve my game. This needs to change.
So, what did go well in 2007 and what do I have to build on. Well, first off I was able to move up to playing 9 tables simultaneously and when and if I ever upgrade to a higher resolution monitor I feel I will have no problem playing 12 or more. That is important as I earn fpps. Also I had my best earnings year ever. If I include the value of fpps earned in 2007 with actual bankroll cash, my earnings this year were in the 7.5k range. This was somewhat short of my hopes but actually in line with what was expected. My "career" earnings including fpps and tourney cash is now over 16K. I am hoping that takes a big leap forward in 2008 and will follow up on that in my next post which will include my poker goals for 2008.
Happy New Year everyone.
